Following on from their 6 mode Impact Driver, AEG’s new 6 Mode Compact Impact
Wrench is packing even more power, punch and torque with a massive 300Nm. The Fusion Brushless Motor is providing maximum power, improved fastening efficiency and even longer runtime. But the feather in the cap of the powerful Impact Wrench is the 6 Mode Selection Panel. Packing equal measures of brains and brawn, this outfit is set to impress.
All the great features we have come to expect from AEG like fantastic ergonomics, robust design and manufacture and a host of key features haven’t been overlooked either, so let’s dive in and take a look.
Loaded With Features
The 6 Mode setting and torque are the heros here on this impact wrench. The six modes are divided between the T Mode (Torque Mode) and the S Mode (Speed Mode). T Mode has three sub-modes, which essentially reduce the torque allocated for each of the three settings. Low, medium and high setting each offer an increasing amount of torque. The low torque setting is restricted to max 70Nm and is designed to protect the workpiece or fastener from the damage that can be caused from too much power. The medium setting increases to max 120Nm and the high setting still only producing just over half of the overall torque available from this powerful, compact impact wrench, which provides new levels of control and precision.
The other side of the 6mode selection is the three speed modes. Speed mode 3 unleashes the full power of the impact wrench with 300Nm delivered for large fasteners when maximum power and speed are called for. Speed mode 2 limits the torque to 170Nm and is designed for medium-sized fasteners requiring medium speed and power. The P mode only allows 58Nm to be allocated when using small fasteners when low speed and force are required.
AEG have long recognised that good tools are made up of many great features so the inclusion of the Tri-beam LED sight light delivers best in class illumination and the friction ring output allows for easy socket changes.
Compact And Lightweight
Coming in at only 1.17kg, putting out a no-load speed of 0-3000rpm and producing an impact rate of 4000ipm, this impact wrench will get the task done when others have failed.
In our tests we used the wrench to anchor into concrete, timber and various other materials. After a short amount of time using the tool I realised it wouldn’t take long before I had all my favourite settings figured out for a wide range of tasks.
I can see this impact wrench being a favourite on building sites, mechanic workshops and other outfits that require the unique mixture of intelligent control and power provided by the AEG 18V 6 Mode Compact Impact Wrench.
